Phospholutions recently welcomed Krishna Maruvada and James Ortiz to the organization as their new Vice President of Research & Development and Chief Commercial Officer, respectively.
Coming to Phospholutions with more than two decades of functional experience, Maruvada will be responsible for leading the company’s continued research and development efforts. As VP of R&D, he will oversee the development of new products, manage relationships with key stakeholders, and develop global research programs in addition to leading an R&D team.
Maruvada’s prior experience includes roles with SABIC Innovative Plastics and Agrium Advanced Technologies. Most recently though, he was the Director, AND Process Technology & Analytical Sciences for Ascend Performance Materials.

Also new to the Phospholutions team is James Ortiz who will assume the role of Chief Commercial Officer.
Ortiz brings more than three decades of experience in global commodities, having held several senior roles with companies including Trammo Inc. and Indagro, Inc. Most recently, James has taken on numerous consulting engagements across the global fertilizer and agricultural landscape.
As the organization’s CCO, Ortiz is responsible for driving the company’s global commercial strategy, revenue generation, and business growth. A significant part of this role’s focus will be on expanding relationships with global phosphate producers and establishing and growing an international commercial team.
“James brings an extensive background in the industry and a rich network of relationships with him to Phospholutions,” Wright said. “His analytical approach, ability to grow businesses, and extensive international experience will serve him well in his new role.”
