Caviness Beef Packers recently welcomed Doug Green to their ranks as the organization’s Chief Financial Officer.
Family owned and operated for more than 60 years, Caviness has three locations across the United States. Processing over 4,500 head per day, the growing company employs more than 2,100 and manages several beef product brands. Some of those include Palo Duro, Palo Duro Premium, Caviness Packing, Farm Fresh Regional Beef, Top Shelf, and Caviness Grass Fed Beef.
In his new role with Caviness, Green will work closely with the entire executive team to direct all financial and accounting functions for the company through long-term vision and strategic management. Green is tasked with managing the processes necessary for financial forecasting and reporting as well as working with outside vendors and negotiating service contracts.
“Known for being thorough and attentive to detail, Doug is a transparent communicator that excels at building up teams and people,” Director Crystal Strauss said. ““He has a proven track record of success in driving profitability and is a champion cross-functional collaboration.”
Green is a seasoned industry professional with more than 35 years of financial experience, most of which has been within the beef industry. He began his career with Tyson as a Plant Accounting Supervisor and has held roles with ConAgra Foods and American Food Group. Most recently though, he was the Regional Director of Finance – Hockenbergs Division at TriMark.
“Doug is an accomplished financial executive with extensive knowledge of the sector,” Managing Partner Gary Weihs said. “His ability to problem-solve and think analytically will benefit him greatly in his new role.”
